Afternoon Pond Series – Afternoon Deux – Painting Pops

Painting 4.1 – Painted on March 27th, 2020. My first day off on our new work schedule.

This is the second in the Afternoon Pond Series. If you haven’t heard of the Afternoon Pond Series (Hereafter referred to as APS), that’s because it was spur of the moment. I had kicked around one time about doing 3 of each painting, For those that didn’t know it, when Bob Ross painted on the Joy of painting in the 80’s and early 90’s, he painted three of each tv series painting. The first, was signed Kowalski, dedicated to Bob’s friend who got him a start and helped him build a legacy. It was this painting that would sit off camera when Bob would paint his masterpiece. The second one was labeled “Show”. It’s the one we all get to watch him paint. Afterwards, he would paint a third painting labeled “Book”. These paintings included the most detail as they were used in Bob’s Joy of Painting Instructional Books. So by emulating the Perm King Himself, I can get three paintings, hopefully from meh to WOW! P.S. This Painting was chosen by my Dad as the one he liked the best. It now hangs in his home.
